Hi, I’m looking for some honest perspective. My boyfriend and I are currently in a long-distance phase. He’s genuinely very sweet, caring, and affectionate when we talk. He always replies warmly, listens, says he misses me, and often says he’s been thinking about me. However, one thing that keeps bothering me is that he almost never initiates conversations. If I want to talk, I’m always the one reaching out first. When I say I miss him, he reciprocates, but he rarely says it first on his own. For context, we were together before and are just apart temporarily. Is this kind of dynamic normal in LDRs, or should I be concerned?
TL;DR my boyfriend is affectionate and responsive but rarely initiates conversations. He says he misses me when I do, but doesn’t reach out first. We were together before and are temporarily apart. Is this normal?
