long story short my friend, lets call her Emma (f17) has a friend (f18) Ava and this guy Jack (m17) who is friends with both of them, but more with Ava. me and him were communication through my friend for a few days before she made him ask for my insta because he was shy and was telling Ava that he likes me and i might be the one (personally i prefer to be realistic this is a silly thing to say like brother you saw me once on a video and after few small talks you think i am the one. but okay king, whatever). so fast forward we started chatting. and we have just regular small talks on a daily basis. but he doesn't talk much. for example i will ask him how are you how's your day been? what are you up to? standard questions, he will reply SO DRY im okay/im not okay my day was good/fine/bad/not so good, im doing this/that. he wint go into details unless i have to ask him and even after that his answers are sill short and closed. unlike him i tell him a bit more abouy my day and how and what i am doing.
so that's pretty much how we are texting, however there are some moments when he is being i dont know how to describe it. sometimes out of the blue he will say that 'I feel safe and calm with you' or 'emma is so happy when i tell her that you make me feel comfortable.' and honestly i just don't know what to say so i usually reply with something like 'oh, that nice to hear'. so i am starting to running out of ideas of topics we can talk about, cus other than above mentioned we talk about studies and Emma and Ava cus they started dating recently (so happy for them btw) and that about it.

TL;DR: got set up with a guy who seemed to like me but hes a bad texter apparently and i dont know how to expand our small talks.
