An absurd question, I know, but I’d love to know if anyone is having the same experience as me.

I’m certain that for the longest time, all of my USB wall plugs (let’s say at least 5-7 different ones) and all of my various leads (usb A, usb C, micro usb, etc. – probably over 20 of them!) would work in any combination. Stick a charger in a wall socket, stick a lead in the charger and away it goes. I’m aware some certain voltages are more suitable than others and that some leads carry more power and that it’s possible to overpower at times as well, but 99/100 times the required device would charge away to some extent.

Cut to about the end of November, and both my iPhone and iPad will no longer charge with my official Apple lead and the wall plug that has always worked. No other lead will work except one that came with my Nintendo switch or controller, and even then it comes up as “slow charger” on their screens. The short lead in my car no longer charges or connects my iPhone to CarPlay. The leads I used to charge my PS5 controllers and Switch lite no longer do anything. I’m spending an age trying different leads with different plugs and it takes what feels like a small miracle to see anything begin to charge.

Has anyone else been through this!?
