Hey all, I've got a huge amount of plastic containers I've built up over the years (some bought, some given…etc) and I want to get rid of them all. They are just clutter and I'm trying to get my house in order.

I've checked my local council website but it doesn't mention anything about it.

I've checked the local tip and they don't mention it either.

Is there somewhere I can give these items? They are mostly in good condition, microwaveable and freezable too, I don't want to just chunk em in a landfill.

Any suggestions? Thank you!

  1. Contact your local scout group – mine desperately needs containers, and I can’t imagine it’s the only one.

  2. Recycling giant skip at large Supermarkets. The ones that you usually need to drive to.

  3. Our two local tips do have a huge skip each for plastic items so maybe just go and drive to yours to check it out first? I was amazed by ours and the stuff they take

  4. Download the trash nothing app and advertise on there. Someone may want them.

  5. Every time you give someone something put it in a plastic container, and if it’s a gift put a bow on top 😂

My Dad and me are frequently handing each other stuff in plastic bags, and saying keep the bag! This is just the next step lol

  6. See if local food bank want them. They often get donations of huge sacks of rice or pasta or dried pulses, that needs dividing up so people can carry them home.
