So me 31M and my 32 F girlfriend have been together around 10 months. Things got rocky toward the end and we split up about a month ago but have still been in contact. And it’s a bit of a situationship as we aren’t technically together, but still end up staying the night and hooking up a couple times this past month.
Recently we are having talks about getting back together so the other day I went to her place and ended up staying the night. That night we were talking about how her sister is getting a divorce etc and that her ex husband has been moved out for a couple months now and has relocated to a new town about an hour away.
So I asked if she had heard from him or how he was doing since he moved out. Him and her sister had been married for 4 years and I have known him a year so I got somewhat close with him as well.
She said he’s doing okay and that she went to dinner with him a couple weeks back. Right around the time that we broke up originally. My ears perked up immediately as I was surprised…
I sort of laughed and asked if her sister knew she went to dinner with him and she said no, and that she didn’t tell her sister because she knew she wouldn’t approve, but that she was worried about him so she went. My heart sunk.
I asked what else happened..
She said that he showed her his new apartment and they sat around for a few hours in the living room talking.
I said “okay please be honest, did anything happen?”
She seemed shocked and said “absolutely not he is like family to me, and I am not attracted to him blah blah etc” something along those lines.
But I remember a long time ago early in our relationship she told me that she thinks he is a good looking guy.
And she drove almost an hour to go up, have dinner with him and tour his new apartment, talk for a couple hours, and didn’t tell her sister about it.
Part of me is extremely weirded out by this, but another part is thinking if she brought it up… then maybe it’s really nothing.
