I hope this is not taken as inflammatory, it's a genuine question.
Most of the black people I know here in France share their lives with white people. It's statistical : there's a lot more white people to share your life with!
Yet in US media, it feels like same-colour couples tend to be much more common than different-colour.
My most recent example, which brought this question, is from Frozen 2. There's a black man who has a long lost love interest. At the end of the movie they are reunited, and she's… black.
So literally the only black man we've met in the two movies is coupled up with the only other black woman we've met. As if they were "made for each other". Isn't that a bit weird?
What are your thoughts on this portrayal?
