I'm Australian. I just started getting in to basketball two years ago.
Its recently come to my attention that scratching is something that happens in NBA.
Apparently it just shows up better on white skin; Jokic is not unique, star players get scratched to f*ckin b*ggery routinely. I've now seen example after example of LeScratchingpost getting shredded like wheat.
In Aus, in any field sport we play, scratching another man like that = immediate fight.
Questions:
- is this as normal as I perceive it to be based on my limited investigation?
- what do NBA fans think about it?
- is scratching a 'sin against masculinity' in the way it is here?
- what steps does the league take, if any, to address the issue?
