I [41F] have been married to this man [45M] for 20 yrs and our relationship has been difficult for a few years now. I just want to know if people think I'm overreacting to his relationship with his "friend":
He has an online woman friend [30s F)who's more or less a secret from me. Its been an open secret for three years but he insists they're only friends. He knows I think it's inappropriate, but he doesn't care enough to stop. He texts her multiple times a day. He has visited her multiple times (not a secret, but I asked him not to and he didn't care). And this week I noticed her address was saved to Chrome on his laptop.
When I confronted him, it slowly came out (he lied at first) that he sends her gifts.
*It's one particular gift that bothers me the most. He sent her a suprise gift of baked goods from a local bakery to her workplace as a suprise.*
This sounds like it could only be interpreted as a romantic gesture. Am I overreacting?
For context: he says he keeps all this secret from me, not because it's nefarious, but because he knows I am overly jealous and I will overreact. I personally think I am a normal amount of jealous.
TL;DR I think his relationship is romantic but he insists it's only a friend and I'm just jealous over nothing.
