Those of you who got out of long term unemployment (2+ years), how did you do it?

So something like 21% of us working age folk are not working in the UK, the most common reason being sickness/disability.

It’s also a pretty accepted truth that employers don’t hire sick and disabled people with long employment gaps.

So anyone who’s been in and escaped this trap, what’s your story?
