We got an email from the third party funding office that we should consider submitting proposals for a certain EU call because it is almost certain that it will be phased out. We’re getting a lot of these emails nowadays.
Maybe I should take my colleague’s advice and go to the Kind Abdullah University or something.
I have started using colors in art only recently, and while I am kind of okay reproducing the colors I see, I am not great at color combinations. Other people are like, you know what, I am going to paint this landscape, but I will only use carmine, teal and ultramarine and stuff like this that wouldn’t occur to me in a million years.
So, when I came across something called “A Dictionary of Color Combinations”, I thought I would give it a go. It is by a Japanese artist, Sanzo Wada, who put this together in the 1930s (I guess somewhere around the Bauhaus period? I am so bad with history). When I got the book, I was a bit disappointed because it’s [tiny](https://i.imgur.com/e50E2a8.jpg) (around 15 cm maybe?) but now I love it, because I can take it with me and turn the pages when I need a break. [It has combinations of two, three or four colors](https://i.imgur.com/lZ1ggzg.jpg) and while they’re on the subdued side mostly (Japanese, I guess), I really love them. So many things I wouldn’t have come up with myself, and they look so pleasing to the eye. I can use these not only in painting but also when dressing up. u/lucapal1 may also enjoy them. There’s also a website if you don’t want to buy a book.
I have a strong craving for a camel hair overcoat. I think it’s arguably the funniest fabric, and the colour is nice.
