I think this is what’s happening to me. And yeah I get it, I didn’t realize how it would look by inviting her over after just 3 dates, but that doesn’t mean I was expecting anything. And even if I was, why does that automatically assume I JUST want to hookup? I’m still after a relationship and definitely could’ve seen myself in one with this girl.
Maybe my inexperience with dating is showing, but I thought it was a nice gesture. Since it was set to still be raining I offered to make us soup and then watch a movie we’ve both been meaning to rewatch. Sounded cozy and like a good time to bond and be close to each other. Plus we already had made out during the previous two dates.
A couple days before this date was set to happen I got the “my elder dog is having health problems” reason/excuse for her having to cancel. So of course I took it to heart and was supportive. But then I didn’t hear back from her for 5 days after trying to reschedule to a date NOT at my house. Yesterday I sent a check in text, and now only silence from her. Worst of all I see her posting on her Instagram story still.
Why wouldn’t she just communicate to me and say she’s not comfortable with an at home date so soon? I would’ve happily come up with another date idea with her instead. Is it just that once you assume the guy only wants one thing, your perception of him is then locked in and nothing can change your mind?
