Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.
I’m a 19 y/o (diagnosed) autistic NEET who desperately needs a job. I can’t drive, and the busses are dreadful around the very small Yorkshire town where I live, so my options are rather limited. I’m also pretty incompetent, anxious, and have no qualifications, skills or experience. (The only time I have ever been employed was when I was hired as a waitress at a cafe, but my autistic aura must have been offputting to customers, as I was demoted to dishwashing, and then was encouraged to leave for being too slow/clumsy).
So far, I have looked on Facebook and Indeed, but nowhere is hiring for unskilled positions at the moment. I don’t know anyone in town, so can’t really find a job by asking around. Is it worth buying a local newspaper to look for something? I know how to apply to jobs, just not where to find them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I have no idea what I’m doing, and don’t have anyone IRL to ask.
Sorry if this is a stupid question.
Thank you 🙏
Edit: I’ve never been to a Job Centre, and don’t really know how they work, or if they would be useful? I also don’t entirely understand what temping/recruitment/employment agencies are?
