As the title captions, what is going on? Is this the new norm in modern dating? I'm a 30M, matching with 28-34F on Hinge; the conversation flowed very well, and we showed clear interest in each other. We proceeded to exchange numbers to arrange a date, putting effort into the time and place. There was minimal communication through texting, as I'm not a big texter since I'm more of an in-person conversationalist, but both of us remained excited leading up to the date. On the day of the date, I texted in the morning to confirm. I either get ghosted or get a confirmation in the morning, then get canceled three hours prior to the date. I don't get it. Why waste people's time if you weren't planning on meeting them to begin with? This is infuriating and getting to the point where I'm done with it all. Last year, I went from not getting past the second or third date to not even having the first date without them canceling on me. I've only had two dates, along with three ghostings and nine total cancellations this year.
