As many of us know, college is a great place to meet new people in person. I've taken a lot of different college classes and made some observations about which ones have the most peer interaction.
-
Language classes: These have a lot of partner activities where you practice the language with whoever sits next to you.
-
Small classes: The smaller the class, the more likely it is that you'll make friends. Having fewer people encourages interaction because you feel less like a member of the crowd and more like an individual.
-
Summer classes: Building off the last one, summer classes tend to be much smaller. The instructors also tend to be more chill and fun, which helps the students feel more free to chat with each other.
If you're going into college or are currently a student, look for classes like these if you want a higher chance of forming relationships with your peers. I ended up going on several dates with people I met this way.
BUT☝️ keep in mind that if things go south while the class is still ongoing, you'll be stuck seeing the other person for the rest of the semester/quarter.
