Im 27M and I've a school friend crush. While in school I never approached her or anyone else in particular because of my very poor financial background. I thought I would be a creep to ask her when I couldn't even buy a fucking lolly for her. Being born in low-middle class Indian Hindu society where love is treated as taboo made it all difficult for me at that time.
Currently my situation is changed now, I'm now earning really well worked hard for my job that I dreamed of. Bought an apartment and am financially independent.
We were already in connect on insta where I asked her number which she gave without hesitation. Calls happened and we talked for an hour sharing our school memories.
We connected again around 2-3 times a month through call sharing our backgrounds, vulnerabilities, relationship status, job etc. While talking she was very open and had a good converstation each time.
She even said that her family sometimes forces her for arrange marriage (common in india) but she just ignores the topic. She even described she is not doing great in job and doesn't even have a boyfriend. She has discussed this thrice over our past calls.
The problem is that she never initiates a call. She never texts or call by her own will. Every time she messages / calls only when I ask her. I even asked once is she wants to meet and she showed genuine interest that she'll definitely meet once she arrives her home town.
I genuinely like her a lot. But I'm not sure she's getting any of my hints. I'm not sure if I should ask her out when we meet or just back off.
Can anyone give me some suggestion? Thanks in advance!
