My local post office closed down a bit ago after being open for as long as I can remember, and now the local corner shops have a postal service instead. When parcels were picked up from the post office, you would tell them your name and they'd go to the back room to find your parcel. They were protected.
Now in the local shop where I had parcels delivered to and my parcels have gone missing, they leave all the parcels in a big bag where any customer can walk past and dip into. No camera above it and the shop keeper doesn't help find the parcel so you are left shuffling through many parcels, rummaging through other customers things. One person's parcel broke as I tried to find mine and some clothes fell out and had to push them back in.
What a terrible system. No security, next to no help.
