I guess ive always been a bit pessimistic but for the most part when ive entrusted people with sensitive information im usually disappointed by the results of that and people ultimately using it against me in overt or sneaky ways. Leading me to be a pretty closed book.
Further it feels like my friend group has become more autonomous, our lives separated and responsibilities gone into overdrive and that in some monkey brain way we are in some kind of competition, even though ive never been a competitive person.
Although this latter point probably deserves some writing and thought of its own.
