My boyfriend (20M) currently lives with two roommates. We’ve been dating for almost five months, and even though I (18F) still live at home because we both attend the same school, I stay over at his place pretty frequently.
One of his roommates is planning to move out soon, so they’ve started looking for someone new. My best friend (18F) found out about the opening and told me yesterday that she wants to ask him if she can move in.
I’m not sure if I’m overreacting, but the idea of my boyfriend and my best friend living together makes me really uncomfortable. I know I’d feel a lot of FOMO, since they’d be spending so much time together while I’m living separately. I’m also not sure how comfortable I’d feel staying over if she were living there full-time.
On top of that, relationships don’t always last, and the housing contract is for at least a year. I’m confident my best friend and I would stay close, but there’s a very real possibility that I might not still be dating him at some point—leaving her living with my ex. That thought makes me panic.
My question is: Is it reasonable for me to feel uncomfortable about this, and should I say something to either of them, or would that be overstepping?
TL;DR: My best friend wants to move into my boyfriend’s apartment. I don’t feel comfortable with them living together and worry about the future if we break up. I’m not sure if I should bring it up or keep quiet.
