I’m the kind of person who mostly listens in conversations. I nod, smile, say stuff like “oh really?” or “yeah true” "that sounds fun" and ask questions about what the other person just said. I don’t usually share my own thoughts unless something feels relatable or I actually have something to say back. It’s not that I don’t care. I actually care a lot and want people to feel heard. I just have ADHD and slow processing speed, so it takes me a while to think of what to say, and by then the moment’s kinda passed.

I worry people think I’m rude or boring because I don’t talk much. I’m really trying to stay engaged and do my part, but I’m not sure how it comes across. When you meet someone like this, what’s your honest impression? Do you assume they’re disinterested, awkward, or something else? Or am I just overthinking it?
