When I think back to visiting the United States as a child, Saturday mornings meant a lineup of cartoons and anime — shows like MegaMan, Teen Titans, Pokémon, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Yu-Gi-Oh. Those shows mixed action, adventure, and serialized arcs that kept viewers coming back week after week.

Last year, when I visited France, I remember relatives watching La Vie en slip. A few months ago, when I visited my nieces in Japan, they were still watching long‑running classics: Crayon Shin‑chan and Doraemon.

I’ll be visiting the U.S. over the holidays and want to better relate to my relatives' children. Which current titles are the ones kids in the U.S. are excited about right now?
