I (18F) met a guy (18M) on a Tinder-like app that requires face verification. We matched, and he messaged me first. He complimented me a lot and said I was his “dream girl.” We had hours long conversations that felt really good, and he was insistent on flying down to see me in a couple of weeks (through out us talking I asked him like 3 times and he said he was sure), even though we really live far apart.

I asked about his last relationship to see how he would talk about his ex, and he was very respectful. I may have taken a screenshot of his profile to reverse image search him, but the app banned my device. I made a new account, rematched with him, and he messaged me first, asking what happened. I gave a light explanation, and he said it didn’t matter and that we were still talking and that he missed me. He suggested moving to snap, ( I dislike snap), and he’s not active on Instagram he also told me his insta is saved as user something we switched to WhatsApp,

He continued being excited about meeting me. The conversations stayed good, and when I set boundaries around sending nudes, he respected them. But on Friday, after I asked him a very normal question like how long has he used the app or something like that, he stopped replying. I texted again that night, but still no response. It’s now Thursday. My messages show as delivered, but his read receipts and last seen were already off. I even posted status updates to see if he saw them, but he hasn’t.

A day or two ago, a friend called him to check if he was just ignoring me or if he’s just not active, I’ve was checking his activity on the app we met and he hasn’t shown Ben on it since. The first call showed “calling” but not “ringing”, suggesting his phone was off or not connected to the internet and sent a “hello” text that delivered. The second call rang briefly but cut off. The third call again showed “calling” and didn’t ring, and when my friend sent a “hello” text, it showed a single tick, meaning it wasn’t delivered—so it seems he blocked her. I had so pissed off, I deleted our chat and deleted the app we met on. After that, I sent my fourth and final message to him, saying something like, “I think I deserve a bit more than silence. This is going to be my last message to you.”

Embarrassingly I made a new account on the app the next day and added him again but no luck, no activity.

I don’t know I’ve match with lots of other guys on the app but I’m not as attracted to them and I mostly find annoying.

Honestly, he’s been great since we met sweet, respectful, and attentive, but I’m really confused by his sudden silence.

What do you think is going on here and what should I do? I genuinely like this guy.
