Hi, I'm trying to understand the vibe in the US about personal data and privacy, especially with facial recognition. I've been looking at google and get faceseek and how they seem to be able to find almost anyone's public photos. It's super powerful.
In some other countries, this kind of tech is really restricted. But in the US, does it feel like people are less concerned, or is it just something we've come to accept as part of the internet? Are there strong laws protecting against this kind of data collection and usage, or is it pretty much a free for all for companies? Just curious about the general American perspective on this.
