People always give the advice to talk about your interests/find groups with common interests both online and in person. That advice is all good and well but how?
Whenever I try to partake I just draw a blank. Suddenly I can't even tell you why or what I enjoy about my hobbies. Even conceptually I can't think of what to say – I have nothing interesting to add and I'm not good enough at anything to offer advice or anything like that. I've tried joining online spaces of fandoms I enjoy but I have nothing to say or at least I feel like I have nothing to say. Even IRL most of my interactions involve me quietly listening to whatever everyone else is talking about and maybe mentioning the weather or something.
So how do you actually talk about your interests?
