Hey everyone! I want to reach out to someone I met earlier this year, but because we didn’t formally exchange numbers I wonder if it might make them uncomfortable. Would it be appropriate to reach out, or is it best to hold off?
I met this person as part of a music project – we were in a band together for a short term engagement. We never exchanged numbers directly, but we were added to a WhatsApp group with other members of the project. I enjoyed hanging and working with him, and he said to stay in touch after our engagement ended. Since then, we’ve run into each other at jams, and I went to see his band play when he invited our group. But because we never exchanged numbers, I don’t know if reaching out to him privately is appropriate. I don’t want to overstep.
