I'm trying to make new friends after being socially isolated for a long time.
Lately, I've been running into the issue and I just don't understand why this keeps happening. I've met 3 girls. The first one I met at my old job, we met up a few times but then none of us bothered to really keep things going. So the other day I bumped into her twice in one week. The second time she told me that we should really hang out and even suggested things we could do, so I'm not imagining this SHE told me. So a day before we meet I ask her to confirm, she cancels. Then she suggests a time we can meet, I tell her the day, she says no, I told her okay get back to me when you are available. She hasn't, its been 2 weeks. Almost everyday she posts being wih someone in a different place.
Then another girl I met at a party we hit it off well, I texted her first and we met up. Again, she seemed very keen on meeting again, she added me to her friend group chat, and invited me to two events. I unfortunately couldn't make it because of work, but she did text me again telling me that she got along with me and wanted to meet again soon. So we spoke about what we could do and I tell her what days that week we could meet, she doesn't text me back.
So then the third girl. We met up twice and she invited a friend with her and, again, we got along well. The second time we met I had to leave early, but she texted me after the meetup saying that it was okay that i had to leave early, she enjoyed her time with me and she hopes we could see each other again. Well I suggest meeting in a a few days, and she didn't respond. Later on that week, btw this girl is friends with the second girl and is also in that group chat. I asked in the group if they were doing anything after the event when I finished working, they told me a few of them were going to the club. So I texted her friend asking if they were going, she said no. But then like 20 mins later in the group chat they say yes… I didn't bother asking again, but… idk
So…. I don't know what exactly is going on here. THEY told ME they wanted to meet. I don't understand I honestly do not get it. I don't want to text them again, I don't wanna look desperate, so like?? What's happening?? I seriously do not understand why they would say about meeting up and have no actual intention to…
