For some context, I’ve moved to a city with a large amount of the purpose being to be more social. What I keep noticing happening is that even though I go out with the intent on meeting people, sometimes everything happens to fast and I’m caught completely off guard with starting a conversation. This has happened like 3 times in the last few days where there’s been the opportunity and I just completely miss it and feel kind of embarrassed on doubling back and trying to strike again. How do you stay ready for very quick, in the moment interactions?

(Edit: title is supposed to say habit, not Midwest)
