I’ve noticed a pattern on multiple R4R or “make friends” subs they seem to only work if you’re a girl. I’ve seen so many posts from guys with barely any replies, while posts from girls get flooded with DMs or comments. I feel bad for men !!
Are these subs even legit anymore or just full of scammers and bots? And i wanna know why do they exist.
Has anyone here actually made a genuine friend or connection through Reddit (especially in India)? Would love to hear real experiences or success stories.

Kinda sad to see isn’t it? Unfortunately, this phenomenon is not new, and it’s not just limited to subs like those. Even back in the old days of forums and IRC chat, if a post/message was made by a female-presenting account, suddenly *everyone* is being super friendly and looking for an internet girlfriend. I knew a guy in middle school who would pretend to be a girl on MapleStory, because lonely dudes would give out free stuff if they thought they were talking to a woman. Have you ever seen what happens to a Call of Duty lobby when a woman’s voice comes on?
What I think is especially annoying is that these lonely boys can’t help themselves, regardless if the context is inappropriate. You’re talking about *friend finding* subs. Gender shouldn’t matter, right? But clearly, it does. Lonely men see a post from a woman who wants a friend, and immediately they go “THIS IS MY CHANCE TO NOT BE ALONE!” See, to them, it’s not a sub for finding friends, it’s just “hey maybe *these* women will give me a chance!”
IMO, rather than hanging out one to one, I’d join a Discord server and be a regular.
