I'm planning a trip for my husband and I as a present for being together 9 years (at that point). My plan so far is to fly from Christchurch New Zealand to Aberdeen Scotland drive to Elgin to visit my family then drive down through the UK visiting all the funny place names like Cock Bridge, Dick Place, Penistone etc, then we plan on going off Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Cologne (and visit the Cathedral), Luxembourg (City), Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart, Zürich, Munich, Vienna and Prague (roughly in this order dependig on flight prices). I plan on Spend 4-5 weeks on this trip.

I was wondering if it's better to hire a camper van and just drive around or to hire a car and mostly use public transport and walk when in the main cities or just use public transit entirely. I was also wanting to know about places I should visit that aren't normally touristy that are super beautiful or interesting. Places between these cities we should visit, things we should know before coming, and anything else I should be aware of. I also plan on taking theory tests and studying the road code for the countries I will be in so I know the road rules.
