He was made redundant over a year ago, is really highly qualified (but degree-less) in his field, has made hundreds of applications, but had few interviews and ended up taking an absolutely colossal pay cut just to get back into work. He hates what he's doing right now, it doesn't pay enough to pay all of the bills and he feels like his brain is stagnating.
He worked for the same company for nearly decade before they closed, in various positions right from bottom end into department head; but a lot of the variation and background in his career was before that. Multi skilled engineering in various sectors, moving through packaging and physical platform integration and into project management which is where he really excelled.
We've both been looking at what checkers are available but are confused by which one might be actually helpful and would prefer personal recommendations if possible please.
He had one review in person about a year ago, followed all the advice and still got nowhere.
