I tend to go about once every 2 years on mates weekends and I have a love/hate relationship with the resort. It's clearly run down now and a shadow of it's former glories, but I'd argue it's socially very inclusive and a good laugh for most.

Faded glory, yes. But I'd argue most people who go there are fully aware of it's limitations and just go for the social nostalgia. A bit like going for a Butlins weekend with mates.

It's lower end tourism, but with the right crowd and entering into the right spirit it still can be a good laugh mates weekend.

Would you still touch it with a bargepole?
