My partner and I are thinking of moving to England, but we're hesitant because one of our children is autistic. They are high functioning, but still take ABA therapy. Which apparently is bad there? An explanation would be great. ABA, at least where we are, is AMAZING. Our kid loves going (it's basically just playtime), but I've heard they can be terrible in other countries. Are they torturing kids there or something?

Also, they are still in the special needs classes at school. Their teacher says she thinks they might be ready to join the mainstream classes next year (3rd grade) But only if he's ready, we're not gonna shove them into something they aren't ready for.

I'm curious to know how well schools typically treat kids with autism. In the mainstream classes and special needs classes (depending on what happens). And what does ABA Therapy look like there? I know it'll depend on the school, but still. Just curious of the treatment for autistic kids in and out of school. And if they have laws protecting them there.

I'm looking for people who have had personal experience. Google only tells so much. I've only gotten two or three people to tell me their views on it and it's very mixed. Any help would be great.
