Help us settle a dispute. Married couple with all joint accounts and finances except one. One spouse has a hobby on the side of buying/selling, let's say baseball cards. What started as a venmo/PayPal clearing account, has turned into an account for purchases like clothes, snowboards, etc.
The household budget includes a weekly allowance for each, for entirely discretionary spending, as well as for regular items like clothing, bigger recreational items, etc.
The items are sent to the house and what's being purchased isn't a secret or an issue. But is it reasonable for the other partner to feel a little uncomfortable with the side/secret spending, when all other aspects of financial lives are merged? Or grateful that the items aren't coming from the household budget?
