So I’m getting married, we’re both 35 and been dating for 2 years.
I told my fiance from the very beginning of a dating that I would need a prenup, she was cool about it and the usual “I don’t ever want anything from you”
Cool, found a girl that understands.
I was also highly encouraged to get a prenup giving my situation from many people.
Now it’s time to visit the lawyers and now she’s sick about it and viewing things in a negative light.
How do I make her realize this is a good thing on both parties?
I’m not the type to hold money or anything over someone’s head, I’m not rude or a bully. Especially to my future wife. She bullies me (haha)
For context, I have a house and a commercial property that I legit sacrificed my entire 20s just to be ahead in life and I have seen what happens in divorce and it’s not pretty. I’m just a maintenance guy that’s worked a lot of overtime to be here. Honestly there isn’t a thought it my head that we will get divorced, she’s really amazing and comes from a very down to earth, hard working family.
But again, things happen.
