Looking for some thoughts on a situation I’ve found myself in with an Amazon delivery.
I ordered a router with next day delivery but while wfh I saw the guy walk up to my front door, not knock or anything, turn around and walk away. Package was marked as undeliverable as nobody was home. It was said to be delivered the day after but never came then either. The problem is we were due to move out the day after first delivery attempt and I really needed it for the new house over the weekend.
I called Amazon support and explained the situation, said I was happy for it to be delivered to a locker so I can get it in my own time but she said it must be delivered to my house as that’s where the order was placed. Thought ok well can we cancel the order and have the money back as a gift card so I can order another one to the locker? She was fine with it and I had the money back in a gift card.
Weird part is on day 3 the first router came to the old address and was marked as delivered, and the gift card money had already been spent on a new router which was awaiting collection at a locker. So now I have two routers.
Tbh I’d like to return one and order something else through Amazon since I’m $£130 up, but it feels like I’m scamming them? Also I’d expect the return to be flagged so I could just sell the second one privately.
Has anyone had experience with anything like this before? What did you do and what was the result? Amazon is a massive company so I’m not putting much emphasis on morals!
