I work from home. A week ago my stepson who is 12 years old had about 10 kids come over to the house. It was a bit excessive, but it was good to see him have friends so it was fine.
This morning he asked me if he could have the 10+ friends over again. I told him he could have 3 friends over maximum as I’m working. His mom then began to attack me saying well why can’t you go upstairs and work? (There’s no desk upstairs it’s just beds) I told her A.) he can still have friends over, just not 10 and B.) I shouldn’t have to move my work position to cater to a 12 year old.
Then she began arguing with me defending how he should have 10 friends over while I’m working. I felt like I was being undermined as a parent and almost like I was talking to my stepsons lawyer in a way.
Am I right or is she right?
