There's an article on the BBC today about the number of dog attacks recorded in England and Wales in 2024 rising to 31,920. That's an insane number and those are just the ones on record, I imagine most are not even reported. If any other animal had that number of attacks they would be culled. Like if there were 87 bear attacks every single day in England and Wales they would just remove bears. I recently had a baby and have been out with her in a park or the woods and passed people with big dogs off leash and I hate knowing that if the dog suddenly attacked there's nothing that me or it's owner could do to prevent it. I'm against guns but if I lived in America I would definitely buy a gun just for this specific use case when I'm out with my daughter. Also it's just weird buying and selling living things for our pleasure. Anyway these are my arguments, I know there is zero chance of a ban happening but do people in general think this is even an issue or am I just crazy?
