So a week ago we found an older kitten on the street meowing like mad for an hour or so.
I managed to walk around for a while and found it hiding under a car, soaked and was covered in fleas. Like a bad Infestation that has been there for a while. I brought it home and it ate 3 packets of food in two hours.
I put a post on Facebook on a pets lost and found in my area group. People noted that there was a well known stray colony on the park not far from me and after a few days of nothing, we took it to the vets. No chip, and probably 6-8 months old.
We've paid for a check up andwormer and flea treatment as it is severely anemic due to the fleas. The vet said it's likely a stray and has been outside a while.
It's such a wonderful cat and it's settled in so well.
I have since deleted the post, but have had a message this morning from a woman claiming it is her neighbours cat, she's an elderly woman and her cat went missing 5 days ago (we've had it 7days now) and is adamant that it is her neighbours. She has no pictures but can tell from the one picture I put up it belongs to the neighbour. She can't providand doesn't know exactly how old it was.
We've spent around £70 on appointment, food, collar and litter tray and litter, toys etc
She is demanding to come and see it, and will 'take things further ' if we don't.
We've got him in to be chipped and neutered in 2 weeks time but I'm lost as what to do.
