Sitting on toilet fuming right now. Spent last few hours with my wife picking out tile and other finishes for our new house. I always drive but for convenience she was driving this time.
We’re having light hearted conversations about my in laws in Brazil. Wife driving in the fast lane and there’s someone ahead of her who she can’t pass and is blocked by a car in slow lane as well which I didn’t even notice at the time until my wife began tailgating her driving 70+ mph. We’re 5 minutes from home. My wife starts flashing high beams, honks, then gets within 5 yards of the cars bumper. I finally ask what she’s doing and to back off. She tells me not to tell her how to drive,that she’s teaching the person a lesson then starts pulling into the god damn shoulder to get cars attention.
We go back and forth verbally, she passes car in slow lane honking and goes back into our conversation. I’m livid. She excuses her behavior to her Brazilian/Spanish heritage, though seeing steam coming out of my ears she quickly came back down to earth and after a few sharp words apologized.
Her BS behavior and childish excuses in the moment are unattractive and infuriating and make me so angry. I’ve worked on my temper for years but this type of bs brings really sets me back. God dammit.
