Latinos make up 20% of US population, and even more among people in their 20s/30s.
Yet if we look at most of the more popular sports, like Football, Basketball, Hockey, Volleyball, Tennis, or popular Olympic sports like Track and Field, Swimming etc, I‘m struggling to think of a lot of latin americans. They seem to be more prominent in Baseball & Soccer, but still, considering all pro sports combined, it’s not much.
Do they tend to focus more on education than on sports, or whats the reason?
Edit: with „latin americans“ I meant US citizens of latino heritage. Not people like Lionel Messi.
