I work for a clinic in Turkey and I helped hundreds of people get their teeth done. I've always wondered what you guys think when you see people with bright white crowns? I'm aware there are really shitty clinics here and the results are overwhelming sometimes but I think I work for one of the relatively good ones. I always try to push patients towards a bit more natural colors but some of you guys really REALLY want the whitest teeth humankind has ever seen which looks insanely fake. What's up with that? And are they mocked or is it a common thing?
FINAL UPDATE LOL: I think I got my answer and answered a lot of you guys' questions as well, I won't be replying to this post anymore; especially the replys that were left here without reading anything I said. If you have questions for me feel free to message me, hope the best for you, bye!
UPDATE:
So it looks like you guys have A LOT of opinions which I agree with almost all of them but I feel the need to place some disclaimers here.
There are good clinics but most are bad clinics.
No one forces these people to get those fake looking ones they choose that, they can indeed have natural looking ones as some people here said they had natural looking ones; including me.
I still don't support the industry preying on people, especially younger ones.
I don't support the cosmetic reasons as well unless there is no other choice and they are over their 20s so they can decide for themselves.
It's almost impossible for us to navigate them for more natural looking ones since we will be the ones to blame if they are not happy with the result.
and a bonus note: a lot of you mentioned a stereotype that comes with these teeth and I really wish I could show you my patient portfolio it's all those people with fake tans and fillers and everything. sometimes I mix my patients and I'm not even racist it's them who are desperately trying to look exactly the same lol.
Edit again: please don't ask me about my clinics name or other clinic recommendations, I don't want to do advertising or get the blame for any bad experience.

I feel the same when I see anyone with bright white teeth. It’s not a natural teeth colour and you look silly.
It can look good but when your blinding me like you’ve installed LED headlights into your mouth you can fuck right off
They are mocked, even if they don’t think they are being mocked, they are being laughed at.
What kind of issues are these people likely to face in the long run?
My girlfriend (Turkish) needs £1000 of fillings (£250 each) and another £2000 of complex extractions (£550 each) due to not taking care of her dental hygiene properly. She is considering flying home to get it done as it’s much cheaper.
God awful.
They are definitely mocked, it’s a very specific type of person that goes for them and especially the extra white ones.
It’s weirdly become a fashion statement.
They all look like tight knobheads
I think the bright white ones (and/or the over sized ones) look ridiculus and, regardless of whether they are good or bad I cannot wrap my head around people filing away perfectly healthy teeth for fake ones. Madness (to me)!

They look fucking awful and are not healthy.
They look silly and people take the piss out of them.
I’ve had crowns / veneers for 20+ years but I got them in human teeth colour so no one has ever mentioned them except to say ‘you have really straight teeth’.
They look fucking stupid and are usually paired with a tan three shades too dark too. I know of one person (distant family relative) who has them and they are essentially mercilessly mocked by the rest of the family behind their backs, then told they look lovely to their face. Apart from my Grandma before she died, she didn’t hold back at all.
Hate them
I can see some of the appeal personally.
I bake a lot of pies and I can’t always find my crimper.
I don’t get the trend at all, it looks ridiculous, and why does everyone want to look the same? Smiles have far more character with natural teeth, but of course, everyone wants ruler straight, bright white teeth.
They are mocked, as are lip fillers and most other cosmetic surgeries or implants. They all look stupid and it blows my mind that these people think they look better with them done. They look insanely stupid like a spitting image character or something
They’re hideous.
Live love laugh, white BMW on finance, crushed grey velvet curtains, little Frenchie called Luna.
They look terrible. Even people who can afford good ones. I can’t help but stare at them as they look so unnatural. 2 people I can think of is Jaackmate and MrBeast.
As a dental professional we hate you guys.
Like seriously we get away but Turkey do it for a quarter of it.
Yeah but we dont yark your teeth out and ram in implants wirh zero fucks about bone level, density or recession.
Then we see them, implants hanging out, veneers squint and badly fitted. Crowns with zero gaps for cleaning etc.
Awful awful work.
They end up spending g thousands more tk fix the work than they would of just staying home and paying us to do it properly
They are too white and too uniform.
Need to be slightly different sizes, or canine for example.
It’s not just the brightness. It’s the size. They’re horse teeth
In answer, they look fucking ridiculous
they’re made fun of, it looks ridiculous
Look like they’ve swallowed a cheap box of tiles.
Looks like they are wearing a gumshield. Ridiculous half the time
They’re god awful.
I personally think the LED headlights look is ridiculous but my bigger concern is what problems are they storing up for themselves in future? You can’t grind teeth down to stumps and not have issues going forward.
I’ve never seen ones that didn’t look ridiculous; but maybe I’ve also seen great ones and didn’t know they weren’t real
They all end up looking like Rylan.
They look Chavtastic
I spent months trying to work out why they looked so odd. Then, a friend of mine who had his done smiled at me close up, and I realised he has a row of front teeth. Theres no fangs or very little fang, and they’re far too uniform.
Dreadful. I’m biased as I work in dentistry so I’ve seen the damage that poor treatment does and how much money and time patients have to put in to have the bad work remedied, and I can’t count how many times I’ve had patients tell me that it was their biggest regret. I also think they tend to look awful – not just the shade but the unnatural shape of the crowns, they’re usually not even close to anatomical.
I’m sure there are great clinics in Turkey that do great work but those aren’t the ones we hear about – you can just spot the cheap/bad work a mile away and it is so frustrating that people fall into the trap without doing any kind of research or planning.
A certain group of people think it’s really great.
I think it looks really silly.
I’d rather have my own, slightly uneven, structurally sound, healthy teeth.
But then i’m not the type of person who is desperate to fit into any particular look.
The sorts of people who get these have “bad taste”, they often wear garish designer clothes and have houses decorated with white walls and grey crushed velvet everywhere.
They cannot be reasoned with, they live in an aesthetic world of their own
It makes me wonder about how people can live inside a reality distortion field like that where many people can see their taste isn’t great but they still press ahead with their decisions
What reality distortion field do I live in? Probably a boat load of things that I’m not aware of.

I love them. It’s a timesaver.
It saves me having to have a conversation with you to realise you’re a bit of a div.
The look is heavily heavily mocked by wider society.
But it’s a look that is so associated with a certain lifestyle (trashy reality TV show contestants who achieve short-lived tabloid fame) that it has become aspirational for a certain demographic.
Live in a identikit small town, with little money, and no clue how to make something of your life?
Well max out a credit card on flights, Turkey teeth and spray tans, finance yourself a bottom of the line Audi A3, post endless chav-spirational photos on Insta and then, even though you’re basically broke 90% of the time, there’s a chance that if you bump into someone you know from school they might think you’re doing really well.
Turkey teeth,
Turkey teeth,
Bright and white,
You can see ‘em at night.
Turkey teeth,
Turkey teeth,
Shiny on the outside,
But fucked underneath.
– Goldie Lookin Chain
Like many things in the UK, it entirely depends on social class.
Turkey teeth are just one of many aesthetic choices that are desirable among certain groups of people and seen as horrendously tacky by others. See also: orange tan, overdone lip filler, badly microbladed brows, spider leg eyelashes etc.
If you’re from certain parts of Essex, Liverpool or Newcastle (as an example – no disrespect to these places) and socialise with particular groups there, you might find these features attractive. There have been Love Island contestants in recent years who have listed “Turkey teeth” as something they find desirable.
But in upper/middle class circles, these things are seen as chavvy and ridiculous. Beauty standards vary greatly depending on class and associated taste.
Think they’re great, I can tell someone’s a cunt without getting too close.
