I need advice. I (21F) and him (20M) were together and I was helping him with his homework assignments and I noticed an email chain with his ex girlfriend. This had dated in October 2024-January 30th 2025. Basically he would tell her he loved her and was having dreams about her. We started talking in September of 2024 and started dating December 3rd. Some of the dates on the emails were December 3 and 4th. That whole time I was thinking something else while he was dreaming of his ex. Now since then I know they have gone no contact and he got over her. Our relationship has been so great and amazing since then and I know he would never do anything else like that.
For background, we started talking shortly after they broke up but I didn’t realize till we were a few months in. He told me he made sure he was over her before he asked me out but still emailed her. He never met up with her or anything and has rejected her multiple times since then. If he wanted to get with her he easily could but isn’t. He told me he just didn’t want her to get over him but I don’t know. I guess I just want to know am I stupid for staying with him?
