Asking this question for scientific purposes. My mom never went to university, she did go to community college and she likes to cheer on Florida (Gators) because they are well liked here in Florida. South and SEC culture after all.
I personally am a transplant to Florida like my mom and I was born and raised in Arizona, and I went to Arizona (Wildcats) for my undergraduate degree. Both are D1 schools and can play against each other because of that. I told her I thought it’d be weird to buy Gators merch (she wanted to buy me a Gators shirt) and fan over the gators instead of my own Alma mater. She disagreed.
I feel like if you don’t hold a university diploma though this doesn’t apply. Thoughts?
