by that i mean they make you forget about your stressors, problems and the trivial everyday life stuff- sort of a mental escape.

  1. Monsters: The Menendez Brothers.

    Even though it’s a messed up story, the Beverly Hills landscapes and nice music choices make it a nice show to put in the back for me.

  2. Fast & Furious — nothing eases stress like watching cars defy physics and family solve everything.

  3. The Office,
    Brooklyn 99,
    Schitt’s Creek,
    Silicon Valley,
    Superstore

    Don’t watch these on repeat but do like them too;
    Working moms

    Bit darker;
    Orphan Black,
    Kaos,
    Ginny & Georgia,
    Homeland,
    The Blacklist

  4. Cartoons from childhood. There’s something healing about watching SpongeBob or Tom & Jerry after a long day no logic, just pure silly joy.

  5. Adventure time, Bob’s Burgers, X-files, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Twilight series. The good stuff.

  6. The Inbetweeners

    The Simpsons

    Thomas the Tank Engine

    Fringe

    Young Sheldon

    Doctor Who

    Modern Family

    The Blue Lagoon

    The Notebook

    Matilda

    Spy Kids

    Ratatouille

  7. Wrestling. Wrestling is my happy place. When I watch it, I forget about all the shit going on around me. I’m just in the moment enjoying the show.

  8. The Simpsons, Rick and Morty, Bob’s Burgers, King of Yhe Hill, Solar Opposites, Degrassi TNG, etc. I also will binge watch old school cartoons and sitcoms from the 80s and 90s I find on YouTube or Tubi with my kids.

    I called these my “calm-me-down shows” because they let me just zone out, get a few laughs out, and decompress from my day at work and running around and taking care of my kids, partner, dogs and cat, and our home.

  9. A few in the shows category: The Office, Bob’s Burgers, golden era Simpsons, $chitt’s Creek, Broad City.

    As far as a movie that I use for this purpose there is only one and that is Talladega Nights.
