I'm a white American but I love za'atar and it with cottage cheese is one of my son's favorite snacks.

Couldn’t even tell you what it is
Yes, a few different kinds. Pretty much required if you ever make middle eastern food.
I do! I first had it as za’atar bread at a Middle Eastern bakery. It’s a staple in my kitchen now, and we especially love it on salads.
Never heard of it.
I have some, but I definitely don’t think it’s common
I have no idea what this is
Pardon?
I do, but it’s a recent discovery for me. It’s probably not a stake pantry item in most American homes.
I personally don’t, but many of my relatives do
Me! Sumac too.
I grew up in Detroit though, where there’s a sizable Middle Eastern populatin so I love to make shawarma, salad fattosh, kibbie naya, etc,.
🙋🏻♀️
No clue what that is
I was gifted a bottle of it about 8 years ago and it’s still 3/4ths full.
I like it a lot but I ran out a while back. I do have sumac though That is a component of zaatar.
I work in a Lebanese restaurant, so I think i’m just sort of permanently dusted in it.
I did make a huge batch of za’atar chex mix the other day. It was fire.
I love za’atar! I don’t normally keep it around at home, but maybe I should, that stuff is delish
I have, but not that often.
I do. My MIL is Palestinian and uses it fairly often, so she gifted me some. I usually mix it with olive oil and dip my homemade bread in it.
Huh apparently people don’t know what that is. I don’t have it on hand now but the local bagel place has zaatar bagels
I make my own blend and have it constantly on hand. Did a trip through Israel/Palestine/Jordan back in 2008 and had never heard of it previously but have been hooked on it ever since. A toasted pita dipped in some quality EVOO and then some za’atar is a wonderful snack. I’ve started serving that to guests as an appetizer when they come over rather than the (IMO overdone) olive oil/balsamic combo and everybody loves it.
Sorry, I’m not very religious 😅
I have it! Love it! Also have sumac
I have some around.
I always have some on my spice rack
I love it. For those that don’t know what it is, it’s a spice mix common in Lebanon and Israel….sesame and thyme mixed. Lebanese people enjoy some toasted on pita bread with olive oil and yogurt for breakfast.
I do. I have two containers in my pantry now. It’s great on so many things. Signed, Pasty white person.
me! I got it at Trader Joes. I love it!
I do! A restaurant I liked in Detroit used it so I bought some and keep it around.
I just got some! There’s a guy at a farmers market that sells a fresh za’atar blend.
What’s that?
I don’t typically keep it in the house but yeah it’s good
When it comes with a Blue Apron meal kit recipe.
I used to, but have gotten out of the habit. I would make za’atar pizzas from fresh dough from my bread machine. I would cook them on a grill attachment on my cooktop. I would add tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese. I would do this on a whim – like when my kids had their friends over and they wanted a snack.
Now that you have reminded me, I need to pay the middle-eastern grocery a visit!
I’ve seen a few movies with Robert Z’dar, but dont have any in my home.
Me! In addition to more traditional uses: za’atar is elite on avocado toast and scrambled eggs. Used weekly in my just for that.
Never heard of it, had to look it up and no I don’t keep the herb spice blend
I love za’atar. I never tried it on cottage cheese. Thanks for the tip!
Had to look that stuff up! Never heard of it, but I guess that was the joke.
What is that? Never heard of it.
I heard of it for the 1st time just the other day here on reddit. Still not sure what it is.
Man I thought you were talking about a demon you summoned

That’s very uncommon in America
