I just turned 32 recently and aging hasn’t made settling down and starting a family anymore appealing. I still feel like there’s a lot more out of life I want to explore (travel, new projects, fitness etc.) and can’t say that I envy any of my friends who are married. I know no one wants to be alone but the people around me who recently started a family have a life that now revolves around grocery shopping and taking kids to soccer practice. Maybe this is just one perception I’m seeing but it still sucks. They’re constantly talking about how expensive raising a family is and never have time for themselves.
Between financial pressures and taking a back seat on your ambitions to start a family, I just don’t see any benefit to this lifestyle. Maybe there is a positive side that I’m not seeing either, I don’t know.
