Logically it seems like it’s pretty straightforward – but I inevitably feel like I completely botch it. My previous tactic was smile, compliment the surroundings, express gratitude and excitement— but I’m not sure if I come off as fake or a people pleaser, but whatever it is. That just doesn’t seem well received- I get the smile with eyebrows raised and head bob up and as they use their hand to guide me out the door. Frankly right now I’m thinking of taking a vow of silence during it as I can’t imagine that doing any worse than I have in the past- so any advice welcome.
