I’ve (30m) been talking to this girl for a few months, but my job had me in and out of state and there wasn't a definitive plan to return. Things were uncertain, so I decided to back off until I had a stable job that would keep me in one place, which I managed to find and is putting me here indefinitely. She’s kept me at a bit of a distance, but wanted me to call when I returned, which I did.

We went to dinner the next day the same day I arrived. It went well, and she seemed happy to see me. A few days later I sent a soft text. We had some brief back-and-forth, then I reached out again a few days after that and got no response. It’s been four days since.

I’m trying to balance being honest about my intentions with respecting her space. But this is the first time i've been romantically interested in someone since my last (long term) relationship ended, and I went through a lot of therapy. In a lot of ways, dating as the new me is a totally new experience.

Should I step back and wait for her to reach out, or try to show consistent effort? She had concerns about my stability, but I'm happy with where I've ended up and want to reassure her that that part of my life is in the past.
