I (29M) have been seeing this girl (26F) for about a month. We had a few great dates with strong chemistry, laughed a lot, got intimate, and even slept together twice. Then two things hit at once: I had to travel abroad for work for 3 weeks, and right when I came back, her grandmother passed away.
Because of that, we haven’t seen each other in almost a month. We texted during this time, but honestly, it felt pretty dry. I caught myself starting most of the conversations – partly because I really liked her, and mostly because of occasional checks ups to see how she’s dealing and being there for her. Now I’m worried I might have overdone it and come across as too available.
Yesterday I suggested we finally meet up, fully expecting her to make an excuse so I can finally move on – but she said yes. We’re seeing each other tomorrow evening.
My questions:
• How can I best reset the vibe and rebuild momentum after a long gap like this?
• Should I keep the date light and fun, or also acknowledge the tough stuff she went through?
• Any tips for resetting the frame so she sees me again as the confident, fun guy she liked at the beginning?
