I don't have really any network of friends and I'm living with family at the moment. The mother in law I'm living in is pretty run down. Holes in the walls, half the outlets don't work, no fridge/oven, toilet doesn't flush, etc. The rent is low for now ($400) But I need to at least move into somewhere that is habitable.
The only problem is I don't make much, I don't know anyone personally I could room with, and my credit is in shambles. I am looking into a better job for pay/hours and certs to open up options for work in the very near future, but until then and probably even after I will need a roommate.
How would you approach finding a roommate in this particular situation?
I've seen too many true crimes and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be cautious 24/7 around a complete stranger.
