I am worried about my husband 37M. We dont have insurnace at this time but as soon as we do he's going to the dr (whether he likes it or not lol)

Main concerns: He's always been skinny but within the past year or so he's went from 150lbs down to 135lbs- he is approximately 5'10. His appetite has not been affected, easily eats me out of house and home. Although over the past 3 years I've noticed every month he seems to get sick to his stomach and vomits or has bad diarrhea for a few days. We can't seem to find anything triggering this as there has not been a common denominator other than it occurring almost every month.

His libido is also low, but its been that way since his mid 20s, I know we should really get his testosterone checked but again- no insurnace and the cost of healthcare here is INSANE.

As of this week he has begun to rotate a lot in his sleep- he didnt used to, im a light sleeper and wake up to any movement, i haven't slept a wink this past week (not only from his movements but side affects from a med ive been on causing insomnia) and he has been rotating like a rotisserie chicken all night. Also starting to become DRENCHED in sweat, every part of his body, even the palms of his hands. Im laying under a weight blanket and my shirt is wet from where I was cuddled against him just now as I type this out.

He has no previous medical issues that im aware of, although has not seen a Dr in many many years (other than a dentist, im an RDA so I make him come into my office) and does not seem to experience daytime fatigue or any other concerning symptoms other than what I previously mentioned.

So men over 30, did this happen to any of yall? What was the reason? Any advice is appreciated as Google scared the hell outta me so im going to talk to "REAL" people now.

Thanks, a concerned (and probably overdramatic) wife

  1. The only answer is to see a doctor.

You don’t need insurance for that and you can ask them about pricing and everything first.
An appointment and some blood work shouldn’t be more than $300. And before you say that is expensive please consider how important health is.

  2. I don’t mean to frighten you but with that combination of symptoms (night sweats and unexplained weight loss), I would go to the doctor right away. I know someone whose cancer started that way. He is okay (treated early and survived) but that is what he noticed, drenched sheets and random weight loss.

  3. +1 for doctor, those symptoms could be hyperthyroidism, which definitely requires both medical diagnosis, and medical treatment.

  4. Those symptoms could be so many different things. I’m not one to go to the doctor unless I’m basically dying…
But I’m sure there is some type of Medical Assistance he can get on to lessen the blow of the health bill costs.

  5. When this happened to me, I had a pretty bad stomach ulcer that went untreated. I thought it was stress related from work snd affecting my gut. My body was basically eating itself snd eventually started getting inflammation from it snd fever like symptoms.

    I thought cancer but nope.
